The Hon. Kerry Healey and the Hon. Brent McIntosh Join the Alexander Hamilton Society’s Board of Directors

The Alexander Hamilton Society (AHS) is pleased to announce that the Hon. Dr. Kerry Murphy Healey and the Hon. Brent J. McIntosh have joined its Board of Directors.

Dr. Healey is the President of the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream. She previously served as the President of Babson College and as Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mr. McIntosh is an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, having recently served as Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs from 2019-2021. He served as General Counsel of the Department of the Treasury from 2017-2019.

“Kerry and Brent embody everything we would want our students and alumni to aspire to: principled, professional, accomplished, and dedicated to what makes America exceptional, both at home and abroad,” said Executive Director Dr. Gabriel Scheinmann. “I have seen Kerry and Brent repeatedly speak to and mentor Hamiltonians and I am looking forward to partnering with them as AHS enters its second decade with a solid foundation and growing impact.”

Both Dr. Healey and Mr. McIntosh have distinguished themselves throughout their careers as dedicated public servants, accomplished leaders, and leading voices for strong and principled American leadership in the world.

About Dr. Kerry Murphy Healey  

Dr. Kerry Healey is the President of the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream. Healey’s career spans higher education, elected office, and foreign and domestic policy. In July 2019, she capped six years as the first woman president of Babson College, the 100-year-old business school consistently ranked as the country’s leading institution in entrepreneurship education. During her tenure at Babson, Healey championed women entrepreneurs, created greater affordability and access for students, and oversaw a dramatic $200 million renewal of the Wellesley campus. Previously, Healey served as Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor, where she led bipartisan efforts to improve services for the homeless, tackle the opioid crisis, and increase protections for victims of child abuse, drunk driving accidents, and sexual and domestic violence. Healey has been a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Institute of Politics and Center for Public Leadership and is on the International Council of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. She holds an AB in government from Harvard College and a PhD in political science and law from Trinity College, Dublin. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a trustee of the American University of Afghanistan.

 

About Brent J. McIntosh

Brent McIntosh is an Adjunct Senior Fellow for International Economics and Finance at the Council on Foreign Relations. From 2019 until 2021, McIntosh served as Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs, where he led the Treasury Department’s engagement in the G7 and G20, represented the United States on the Financial Stability Board, managed U.S. participation at the IMF and World Bank, and oversaw Treasury’s international economic and financial policy work, including significant engagements on the COVID-19 pandemic’s economic consequences. McIntosh served from 2017 to 2019 as Treasury’s General Counsel, leading the department’s approximately 2,000 lawyers and spearheading its regulatory reform efforts. Before joining Treasury, McIntosh was a partner in the law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell, where his practice focused on complex disputes involving financial institutions and multinational corporations, and was co-head of the firm’s cybersecurity practice. McIntosh holds an AB with high distinction in economics and political science from the University of Michigan, where he was a writer and editor for the Michigan Daily. He earned a JD from Yale Law School, where he served as an Articles Editor on the Yale Law Journal. He is a member of the Bretton Woods Committee, the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and the Reagan Institute Strategy Group.
