Elbridge Colby is the Director of the Defense Program and Senior Fellow at the Center for New American Security. Colby comes to the Center from the Pentagon, where he has served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Force Development. While at the Department, Colby served as the lead policy official in the development and rollout of Secretary Mattis’ National Defense Strategy, the Department’s preeminent strategic guidance document.
